Living in Westchase
Located north of Downtown Tampa lies a tiny town known as Westchase. Purchased by the Thomas children, Milo, Emery, and Gus, after their return from World War II, Westchase was a 1,451 acre contact that would be developed from the Thomas’ private ranch to a public community. The Westchase development was completed in 1991 when homeowners began to purchase the first completed houses in the community. Now Westchase is considered to be the modernized old-time Main Street U.S.A. town of Tampa Bay.
The new old-time town is nothing far from an urban and modernized community. Westchase is home to many high quality restaurants, shops, and bars making for the perfect evening out with friends or family. Enjoy a visit to the Big Cat Rescue to meet and greet wild animals from all around the world followed by a trip to the World of Beer to try domestic and exotic beers popular worldwide. For a more relaxed evening take a trip to the Westfield Citrus Park Mall or catch a show at the AMC Movie Theater.
Known for its close proximity, Westchase residents have excess to many of Tampa’s most dazzling entertainment options such as The St. Pete Times Forum, The Florida Aquarium, Ruth Eckerd Hall, Busch Gardens, Disney World, Universal Studios, and Sea World.
Westchase is conveniently located near I-275, The Veterans Expressway, The Courtney Campbell Causeway, Sheldon Road, and Linebaugh Avenue providing efficient travel to Downtown Tampa, Clearwater, St. Petersburg, and Orlando.
